IRREGULAR CYCLES OR MISSING PERIODS SUPPLEMENT PROTOCOL
I have created this protocol especially for YOU (my community) to help support your menstrual cycle health. This protocol will be helpful for you if:
- You have irregular cycles (you never know when your period will arrive or it consistently comes more than every 35 days or less than every 25 days, or a bit of both!).
- You if you are not ovulating or ovulate sporadically
- You have missing periods (more than 3 months and you are not pregnant and there is no physical reason why you don’t have a period)
I suggest implementing this protocol in conjunction with my Harness Your Hormones Program for 12 weeks to see improvements in your cycle. Please consult with your doctor before taking any supplements.
Here’s to fixing your period!
Acetyl L-Carnitine 500mg
Acetyl L-Carnitine is a form of carnitine (naturally found in the body and in animal foods) that helps move fat from outside the cells into the mitochondria, aka fat absorption, so it can be used for energy. This is a good thing, I promise, especially because your ovaries and testes are mitochondria powerhouses! Acetyl L Carnitine has been shown to improve brain health, energy levels (bigtime!), and can help regulate cycles or bring a missing period back. It improves sperm motility (for the guys) and it supports fetal brain development (if you’re considering getting pregnant).
Omega 3’s are potent anti-inflammatory agents and super important for healthy ovulation and overall hormonal health. They are also beneficial in helping to regulate menstrual cycles, reduce menstrual cramps and improve PMS symptoms. They also help the brain cope better with stress and reduce the negative effects of chronic stress.
Gaia Herbs/Professional Solutions
Commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine, this popular herb has been around for thousands of years. It is not only an effective anti-anxiety remedy, but can also treat fatigue and sleep disorders and boost endurance. It has helped a number of my clients with amenorrhea get their periods back due to its calming effect on the HPA axis and the nervous system.
Apex Energetics, Inc
I often refer to vitamin D as the “period vitamin” because it plays such an important role in follicle development, follicle sensitivity to FSH, and progesterone production. It has been shown to have a positive impact on both PCOS and endometriosis. In fact, the majority of women diagnosed with PCOS are deficient in this critical vitamin!
